knot mile, 44.42 km., 15.74 knot alpha.

Walk *** Around Felixstowe.
Woke around 5.30 and looked out of the back bedroom window and noticed some
lovely colours in the sky, I thought I had missed the best of the sunrise
but decided to jump in the van and whizz down the seafront, first stop the
end of our road, second Felixstowe pier and third The Fludyers as the big
red ball appeared above the horizon, I got a few nice pics for the local TV
weather, sadly none were chosen:(
After missing yesterdays windy day I was hoping to get out today but was
nnot sure, Mag headed to Lidl early while I did my exercises. Then as we
were having Maeva for the morning and the wind was still light I walked
around with Mag to pick her up and she was pleased to see us. We came back
through the town with Maeva going to sleep. With the wind from the south
building I had my breakfast and decided to head to Levington Marina.
Windsurf foil ****
The manor looked good on the webcam but the temperature was only 8 degrees
so I thought the River Orwell was the best venue today. Arriving at 11.10,
the tide was high and there was a good breeze from the south, cross on from
the left, not a bad direction as it turned out. Foil board was quickly set
up and it seemed windy enough for my 5.5 which proved right for most of the
session, I had a particularly good first hour beating out across the river
in fairly smooth water, it was definitely on for a 5 star session until the
wind went a little patchy in the second hour:( I think the local fish
population took a battering today hitting three I think with two putting me
in the water, my only time in the water despite gybing around 75 times
which was great fun especially when powered up!
The session was set against a large blue container ship on the end berth at
Felixstowe dock, the bright blue Ane Maersk the 1st large methanol powered
containership:)
I was pleased to break 20 knots a couple of times, got at OK average and
some good alphas plus the months best hour so all in all a nearly 5 star
session!
